Faust Cabin is a beautiful historic log home in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. You may have noticed this cabin while visiting Inspiration Point on Glen Lake. For Giving Tuesday, Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear is asking for donations to help us continue our work on Faust Cabin for the park.
We are extending a special invitation to people who may not have given to Preserve in the past. Use this opportunity to contribute to a project that helps preserve this gem on Glen Lake. Many visitors and locals in the area have caught a glimpse of this treasured historic home while capturing a sunset at Inspiration Point or taking in the views of Glen Lake and Alligator Hill. Any amount will help us reach a goal towards window restoration; 75 windows in all!
Our team has been working hard to preserve this cabin. In addition to window restoration, we have funded content appraisal and cataloging, hired professional tree pruning, managed a structural engineering evaluation, engaged masons on chimney repairs, and mitigated water damage.
Future projects on Faust are extensive and include re-roofing, foundation repair, log repair, fieldstone cleaning, and garage and shed repairs.
