Faust Log Cabin
Faust Log Cabin – located at Inspiration Point, this cabin is a jewel in the National Park. There are on-going projects to tackle.
North Unity School
In the woods overlooking Narada Lake, the transformation of the little schoolhouse will be completed this summer
Kraitz Log Cabin
This oldest structure on the mainland in the park has been taken from deterioration to almost complete restoration.
Ole and Magdalena Olsen Farm
In June, we took on projects at the Ole Olsen farmhouse including replacing siding, drip line and flashing on water damaged section; roof repairs; and drainage system installation.
Interpretive signs
Hikers and bikers out exploring the park often come upon the historic properties
Adopt-a-Highway
Come join us to help pick up litter from the section of M-22 in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District one mile in each direction from the Olsen Farm as an adopt-a-highway partner with MDOT.
Landscape Stewardship
Cultural landscape features within Sleeping Bear Dunes includes gardens, fence rows, pine plantations, windbreaks, cemeteries, antique orchards, old roads, meadows, agricultural fields, and ornamental plantings such as lilacs.
Eitzen Farm
PHSB volunteers restored a happier face on the farm with a new fence. Next, the perennial garden in the front will soon be restored. There’s much more work to be done on this farm in future years.
