May is National Preservation Month!

National Preservation Month shines the light on preservation of our heritage across the country. From preserving our nation’s battlefields and monuments to rural America. In Sleeping Bear Dunes It’s about keeping the rural heritage landscapes alive, welcoming, and meaningful.
It means more than protecting historic buildings. It means caring for the living heritage of Sleeping Bear: the farms, barns, trails, scenic views, traditions, and stories of the Annishinabek and early settlers that help people feel connected to this remarkable place.
Every restored structure, volunteer effort, guided experience, and shared story helps ensure that future generations can not only learn about Sleeping Bear’s history — but truly experience it.
We have dozens of projects lined up this summer, and programs and events that step you into the story! None of our work is possible without our donors and volunteers! We invite you to join or renew your support today.
With gratitude,
