The Olsen farm is home to PHSB and the Port Oneida Heritage Center. After years of dedicated effort, the farmhouse has been beautifully restored through major repairs, breathing new life into the property. Now, attention turns to the outdoors, with irrigation lines being laid in the gardens and a new fence encircling the raspberry patch (sorry deer and rabbits). Thanks to the Gardeners and Preservation Crew, this stunning farmstead remains a captivating sight for anyone traveling M-22 or enjoying the Heritage Trail.
Pending park approval, we will take a step toward our vision of cultivating flax and cut flower fields. Plans also include plowing and planting winter rye to help control grass. We have a vision to grow flax for a variety of purposes, and have u-cut flowers in the future, as well as for donation at the Olsen farmstand.
