
COURSE OVERVIEW:
This beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the craft of pine needle basketry. With locally foraged red pine needles (supplied), you will utilize the wrap stitch and the split stitch to create two lovely pine needle ornaments that smell wonderfully of the Leelanau Peninsula. You will leave the class with the skills and tools necessary to create additional ornaments (and perhaps baskets) on your own.
INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Nancy Hascall has long enjoyed working with natural materials, though pine needle basketry is a recently acquired skill. A retired high school teacher, Nancy splits her time between the family farm near Lake Leelanau, Kalamazoo, and Wyoming trout streams…always with her husband and border collie. Nancy earned a M.A. in English Literature from Michigan State University.

- Required tools/materials are provided by your instructor an and will be available once the course begins. This will be covered by the supply fee of $15.
