Step inside five log cabins in the Park!

In celebration of the annual Michigan Log Cabin Day, Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear showcases the national park’s log cabins. We have repaired most of these historic structures over the years and we want to share these amazing structures and their stories with you.

Interpreters, including some descendants, and/or storyboards will be at each of the log cabins. Some demonstrations of traditional building will take place. Allow enough time to get from the north end to the south end of the park.

Get Stamped!

Pick up your free Log Cabin Day card at any of the sites and start exploring! Get your card stamped at 4 of the  5 sites to receive your free 50th Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore sticker. Get your card stamped at all five sites and you will be entered into a drawing of other prizes including Maple Syrup.
