West Side Barn

The Manitou Island West Side Barn was the largest barn built on North Manitou Island and is the only remaining, intact resource representing the Manitou Island Association’s agricultural complex on the West side of the island. The architecture is an excellent example of the plank-truss frame structure which was common during the early 20th century. The farm house and other buildings which were once part of the complex are now gone, although one outbuilding still remains nearly as a ruin.
