About the Folk & Field School
As a program of the nonprofit Sleeping Bear Forever, any proceeds help to preserve Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. While the Sleeping Bear Folk & Field School officially launches this year, we have been nurturing this idea for many years inspired by our visits and research of folk schools across the country. Our desire to save and teach these traditional skills for the next generation through this program and the Port Oneida Fair, has been thoughtfully envisioned as a natural extension of Sleeping Bear Forever’s work of nearly 30 years to preserve and share the region’s heritage.
As we roll out our humble foray of programs, we would be honored to have you join us in one of the most beautiful spots on earth – the Annishinabek’s “Land of Delight”.
