SUMMARY:Knitting the Lakeshore: Mosaic Knitting Basics 5:30-7:30 pm
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nCOURSE OVERVIEW: \nA shawl is what we consider a foundation piece\, both in terms of wardrobe and within your knitting repertoire. We’re introducing a basic framework here—the ubiquitous triangle shape achieved by increasing at the edges—and showing you one way it looks fabulous (with a verrrrrry special handspun) in a simple-to-work slip-stitch pattern that reminds us of beach stones. Not sure about the hand spun yarn? You’ll achieve an entirely different look with a combination of hand painted yarn + solid or two solids/tonals for more of a checkerboard look. Never worked two colors before? Don’t fret–this is an easy-to-remember slip-stitch pattern that yields impressive results.  \nBasic knitting experience required. \n  \nINSTRUCTOR BIO: \nLiz Neddo is the owner and curator behind Wool & Honey\, a Michigan yarn shop rooted in slow craft\, community gathering\, and thoughtfully sourced fiber. With years of experience teaching knitters of all skill levels\, Liz creates welcoming spaces where students can build confidence\, learn practical skills\, and reconnect with handmade traditions. Their teaching style blends patient instruction with a warm\, community-centered approach inspired by life along the lakeshore. \n  \nREQUIRED TOOLS/SUPPLIES: \n\n▪ US 7 [4.5 mm] 24” or 32” circular needles \n▪ Notebook if desired \n▪ Writing utensil \nReading glasses if needed for close work\nOther required tools/materials are provided by your instructor and Folk and Field School\, and will be available for purchase once the course begins\n\nSupply Fee will cover:\n\nProject Yarn\nPrinted Handouts\n\n\n\n\n\nOPTIONAL TOOLS/SUPPLIES: \n\nN/A\n\nCOURSE DATES: \n\nJuly 10th 5:30-7:30\n\nCOURSE DETAILS: \n\nTuition: $65\nSupply Fee to the Instructor: $55
