DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nCOURSE OVERVIEW: \nStudents will learn the basics of primitive rug hooking including tools and techniques while completing a small decorative mat. All materials will be included in the supply fee and the tools will be yours to keep! \nTHIS IS A TWO PART CLASS\, A WEEK APART \n  \nINSTRUCTOR BIO: \nKathleen comes from a long line of makers- quilters\, cross stitchers\, seamstresses-but she is the first rug hooker. She is self taught\, but has taken classes from many nationally known rug hookers. She has been rug hooking for 30+ years and loves it as much today as when she started! \n  \nREQUIRED TOOLS: \n\nRequired tools/materials are provided by your instructor and Folk and Field School and will be available for purchase once the course begins\nStudents will have to bring a pair of scissors\n\nCOURSE DATES: \n\nSeptember 23 &  September 30th 1-4\nTWO PART SESSION A WEEK APART\n\nCOURSE DETAILS: \n\nTuition: $100\nSupply Fee to the Instructor: $60

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nCOURSE OVERVIEW: \nTry your hand at gel plate monoprinting to make decorative papers\, postcards\, and booklets. With gel plates\, you can transfer drawings and images from a variety of media\, and make botanical prints\, graphic art\, and collages. We will use the historic and cultural landscapes of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore as our muse for imagery\, prose\, and poetry. \n  \nINSTRUCTOR BIO: \nNancy McKay specializes in presenting programs that tune into cultural\, historic\, and natural features of national parks and other protected landscapes. She uses artistic means (such as writing\, painting\, and printmaking) by which students deepen their understanding of these places. She has served as artist-in-residence in 4 national parks\, as a volunteer interpretive park ranger at 10 national parks\, and on the faculty of the John C.
