DESCRIPTION:Featuring: BOEKELOO CABIN \nSunday\, June 28\, 2026   11 am – 2 pm \nIn celebration of annual Michigan Log Cabin Day\, Sleeping Bear Forever will be highlighting the Boekeloo Cabin\, one of six log cabins on the mainland in the Park. \nStuart Boekeloo is a descendant who will be on-site to share history and stories of his family’s time at the cabin. \nCheck out Sleeping Bear Forever’s (formerly Sleeping Bear Forever) preservation of the cabin\, having restored the windows\, door\, bridge and property fence and replaced and repaired logs. \nLocation: The cabin is set at the end of a two mile two-track in the Platte River area of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. A peaceful location on a cranberry bog with a path from the cabin to Lake Michigan\, it’s a hidden favorite for many. \n
