October 3 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

COURSE OVERVIEW:

Learn a bit about the different types of indigo dye and the varied sources for them. Explore techniques for folding and tying items to be dyed to create a variety of patterns. Dye a bamboo scarf (included in supplies purchased from the instructor) and one other item that participants provide. These items must be cotton, linen, bamboo or silk for best results. Preparing the fabric using shibori folding techniques and watching them appear on the fabric is magic.

With a resurgence of interest in indigo and ethnic patterning in the fashion world, this class is sure to be a winner! The techniques are varied but simple and beautiful designs can be created in a short time. Participants can complete two projects during the class and will have knowledge to repeat the process at home if desired.
