Katie Shepherd Hotel Porch - North Manitou IslandDate: Friday - Sunday, August 20-29, 2010See the completed project!http://picasaweb.google.com/DavidMWatt4/KatieShepardAugustProject2010?feat=email# Time: Approximately 6 hrs. each day. Some time off during the week to explore the island. Project Description: Here's an opportunity to enjoy the North Manitou Island and work on the historic Katie Shepherd Hotel. We'll be completing restoration of the porch floor and ceiling in this week-long project. Participants will be coming and going depending on their availability. Volunteers can sign up for a minimum of two nights, three days work. Island projects are our most popular - so sign up soon! Registration is required. Funders/Partners: Cherry Republic; Volunteers Needed: 6 skilled carpenters at any one time; 5 general volunteers. Supervisor: Supplies/Equipment Needed: Bring work gloves; Details will follow upon registration. Directions: You'll be taking the Manitou Island Transit ferry (or you can take your own boat) and will be given housing on the island. What to Bring: Must wear long pants and hard soled shoes; gloves, hammer, electrical tools if you are a skilled carpenter. Details will be sent out after registering. VOLUNTEER NOW!
